Smadot Technology Co., Ltd. located in Shenzhen, China (hereinafter referred to as “us”, “we”, or “our”) (the “Service”) is authorized to operate the website and the product mobile applications (the “Service”), This means that when you enter our website or buy and use our products your personal data will be collected, stored and used by us. This page will inform you on our privacy policy regarding your personal data and your rights. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
What we collect about you
We collect the following personal and device information when visiting any of our Site or using our Products:
Personal & Account Information
- Information required and collected during device setup is your email address and password, etc. You can also optionally choose to provide a profile picture and account name.
- If you are invited to create an account from the owner of a Smadot product, we will collect your name and email address from the Smadot user that invited you. Other account details will be obtained directly from you during the setup process, provided that you accept the invitation.
- Your phone number will be obtained directly from you during the configuration process if you activate the notification feature to receive auto SMS/Phone call from Smadot’s device.
Device Information
- Audio and/or video is collected through the device. Audio and video data is stored securely on our servers to ensure you can access it and playback footage.
- Environmental data from Smadot’s sensors, such as motion, air quality, humidity, temperature, and ambient light.
- Device Information, such as model and serial number, physical network information (including IP address), device activity logs, and historic and current device configuration.
- Information about your mobile device such as your mobile device ID (which is similar to a website IP address), which is used to define which server it should connect with。
Your personal and account information can be connected with the device information.
What we do with the information we gather
We use your personal data to perform the agreement between us, so you can use the Service:
- We need your information to contact you, to send you the device you ordered or to assist you with any problem you have.
- During device setup, the Smadot product will ask for your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password to connect to the Internet. It will save this information on the device, along with your IP address, so that you can access it and control it from your mobile devices, and so that it can communicate with Smadot servers and download software/firmware updates.
- Some of Smadot alarm devices are designed to help you not miss out on some important device-related notifications. If you choose to activate this feature, you can choose to provide us with phone number information, but we only store your phone number on the device, you are automatically notified when the device status is abnormal.
- Your account allows you to provide certain basic profile information like your nickname and profile photo. You should only use photos you are willing to make public to other Smadotusers.
- We collect data from several sensors built into Smadot device or paired to the alarm panel. For example, motion detectors can detect movements. These devices can sense whether something is abnormal for security purposes then notify the panel to sound a siren and/or send you a notification.
- In order to improve your experience over time and help tackle any problem you may encounter with Smadot products, we record device model and serial number, software version, and technical information such as sensor status, Wi-Fi connectivity, error logs, battery status, and whether product features are working properly.
- When you enable the streaming features of your Smadot camera products, we may record and process video and/or audio recordings from the device, subject to your configuration and settings. We may process information from your camera so that we can send you alerts when something happens. In addition, if you have the recording feature enabled, we will capture, process and retain video and audio data recordings from your device for the duration of your subscription period (for example, 3 or 30 days depending on different cloud storage package you may choose) and you will be able to access those recordings using the Service during that time.
- You may save and may choose to share certain content like screenshots and video clips to other people. We will collect and store information that will allow us to save or share your content as directed by you.
- Some of the devices have cloud storage subscription plans available, you can purchase such services through PayPal. We won’t save your payment information, but only your purchased subscription plan and PayPal account name.
- We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the Service by or through a mobile device (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visited, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
- To monitor the usage of our Service
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues
- To provide you with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless you have opted not to receive such information
- Smadot Technology Co., Ltd will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
We need to use your data if it is our legitimate interest:
- We may email you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send. In addition, you may invite friends or family members to share access to your device. We will ask you for the email addresses of any such individuals and automatically send email invitations.
- We may notify you on changes in our Service, allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so, gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service and detect, prevent and address technical issues. For that matter we also monitor the usage of our Service.
- We may also need your data if we need to protect you or ourselves.
Receiving third parties and processors
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your personal data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).
We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information. We use a payment processor called PayPal or Mollie.
Some of our products use third-party voice assistance services such as Amazon® Alexa or Google® Assistant. These services collect audio data (voice) to help operate and control enabled products. The data these services collect to help operate our products are governed by the privacy policies of such services, please review and consider such privacy policies before selecting or using these services.
Your personal data is stored within Europe, the USA or India, depending on where your Smadot devices were activated. As Smadot is part of a larger concern it is possible that under need-to-know circumstances, other entities, which are one of our affiliates may have access to your data. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
On our website you will find social media buttons or links to other websites of interest, for example LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. When you use this button or click on this link, the privacy statement of that particular party applies. We do not have any responsibility regarding the use of social media buttons or links to other websites. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question. We will not sell your personal data to third parties, and other than the above we will not transfer or lease your personal data to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
Children’s Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”).
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Storage
We do not store your personal data longer than we believe is necessary for the purposes as set out above. This depends on the following:
- You may delete your account anytime you like
- Your data is deleted after the storage time as set out in the cloud plan that you purchased has ended. Such timeframe may vary from 3 hours to 30 days, or when desired indefinitely when you bookmark the data.
- Please mind that if we receive your information through a webform, we will store such information for 2 years
- Your information may be used for statistical purposes for a longer period but such information will be anonymized as well.
Your privacy rights
You may always change, add or delete your account at Smadot. You also have the right, at all times to request for
- Access and rectification or erasure of your personal data;
- Restriction of processing or to object to processing in general;
- Data portability;
- A withdrawal of your consent, which we at all times will obey;
We have the obligation to fulfill your request within 4 weeks of receipt. If we are not able to meet such period of time we will inform you accordingly. Please understand that we will do the best we can to meet your requests however, this is sometimes not possible. In that case we need to examine if your individual interests prevail our rights and obligations but we will at all times provide you with a solid motivation. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests.

Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) govern your legal rights to use or access our websites, software, mobile applications, subscription services (the “Services”) and Smadot hardware products (“Products”) owned by Smadot Technology Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively “Smadot”, “us”, “we”, or “our”).
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using any of Smadot Products or Services.
By accessing or using our Products or Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms apply to all users and others who access or use the Products or Services.
If you disagree with any part of the terms, please DO NOT use our Products or Services.

Notices for Access, Use and Installation
All rights and contents (including logos, graphics, designs etc.) provided though the Products and Services are owned by Smadot, its licensors, or designated 3rd parties. The Products should be installed on your own residential property and not for commercial use.
You should take your responsibility to ensure that you comply with any applicable laws whenever you use our Products and Services, including but not limited to:
① Any laws relating to the recording or sharing of video/audio content.
② Any laws requiring notice to others when using the Products or Services.
Furthermore, the installation of any Product which takes video and/or audio recordings cannot take any recordings beyond the boundary of your property. If the Product is installed in a workplace, please note that our Products or Services are not designed for commercial use, and that you should comply with laws governing the monitoring of employees. A warning display informing others that recording is taking place is required.
If you breach any of the following, Smadot reserves the right to terminate your use of the Products and Services:
- Violate any laws or regulations;
- Infringe upon intellectual property rights of their holders;
- Conduct anything which is harmful, fraudulent, obscene, repulsive, threatening;
- Jeopardize the security of any computer network, or crack any passwords and encryption codes;
- Run any form of programming interfering with the proper work of the Services.
It is your responsibility to install and use the Products and Services pursuant to the user manual and instructions. If a product is not properly installed, or if a product or any of its sensors are outside the detection range or hindered or obstructed by walls, furniture or other things, you may experience false alarms or detection failure. It is your responsibility to test the Products once installed to be sure that the Products (and any related sensors, components and peripherals) are functioning and communicating as intended and designed, and then regularly test and maintain the Products after installation.
It is your responsibility to replace any batteries for the Products, when necessary. You understand and agree that the Products may NOT function or properly function if batteries need replacement; please check them regularly.
Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide us information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service.
You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
The individual who created an Account is the “Owner” of that Account and is the Owner of the Products associated with that Account. Individuals who are authorized to access an Owner’s Products and Services are “Authorized Users”. Authorized Users may have the ability to use the Services and monitor and control the Products. Authorized Users may also have the ability to view information (including personal information) and content across all of an Owner’s Products and Services. Authorized Users are responsible for their own actions in connection with the Products and Services, but the Owner also hereby agrees to be fully responsible for all actions taken by Authorized Users relating to the Owner’s Products, Services and Account. If you are an Owner who invites or enables an Authorized User, you acknowledge and agree that said Authorized User with the same access and ability use your Products and Services set out above. As a result, if you are an Owner, you should only authorize those individuals whom you trust to access your Account, Products and Services.
Only individuals aged 18 – or age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is older – are permitted to act as Owners of Smadot Accounts. If you are an Authorized User, you represent and warrant that you are over the age of 13, and in the event you are between the age of 13 and the age of majority in the jurisdiction where you reside, that you will only use the Services and Products under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. Any use or access to the Services and Products by individuals under the age of 13 is strictly prohibited and is a violation of these Terms. The Services and Products are not available to any users previously prohibited from using the Services and Products by Smadot.
No Life and Safety or Critical Uses
You acknowledge that the Products and Services are not intended to be 100% reliable and we do not monitor emergency notifications and will not dispatch emergency authorities to your property in the event of an emergency. We cannot guarantee that you will receive notifications in any given timeframe. All life threatening, safety and emergent events should be directed, by you or your Authorized User, to the appropriate response services. We strongly suggest that you download and save any important recordings to your phone or other locations to avoid loss of your recordings.
Shared Content
You may have the ability to upload or post materials (including, without limitation, video, images, and comments) (the “Content”) to the public or 3rd party. You are fully responsible for all the Content that you upload, post, email, forward, spread, in connection with the Products or Services.
You warrant that: (a) you own the intellectual property rights in Shared Content posted by you or have the license to post the Content, and (b) the posting of your Shared Content does not violate the copyrights, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights or any other rights of any organization or person.
Termination
These Terms will remain in full force and effect as long as you continue to access or use the Services or Products, or until terminated in accordance with the provisions of these Terms. At any time, Smadot may
(i) suspend or terminate your rights to access or use the Services, or
(ii) terminate these Terms with respect to you. In good faith, we believes that you have used the Services or Products in violation of these Terms. If you transfer a Product to a new owner, your right to use the Services with respect to that Product automatically terminates and the new owner will have no right to use the Product or Services under your Account and will need to register for a separate Account with Smadot and accept these Terms.
Upon termination of these Terms, your Account and your right to use the Services will automatically terminate.
Third-Party Services
Our Services may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by Smadot.
Smadot has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party web sites or services.
Third-Party Web Site Links
Smadot provides these links only as a convenience and does not review, approve, monitor, endorse, warrant or make any representations with respect to such third-party web sites. Your use of these third-party web sites is at your own risk.
Third-Party Service Providers Used by Smadot
You acknowledge that Smadot uses third-party service providers to enable some aspects of the Services – such as, for example, data storage, cellular back-up, synchronization and communication through Amazon® Web Services and mobile device notifications through mobile operating system vendors and mobile operators. You agree not to rely on the Services for any life safety or time-critical purposes. Further, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to release and hold harmless third-party services providers from all liability, damages or losses of any kind, personal injury or loss of life arising from your use of the Products and Services beyond the scope of these Terms and Conditions and Smadot instructions/manuals.
We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that you visit.
Software Updates
From time to time, Smadot may develop updates, upgrades, patches and other modifications to improve the performance of the Products and/or the Services or for other reasons in our sole discretion (“Updates”). You agree that Smadot may automatically install such Updates without providing any additional notice to you or receiving any additional consent from you.
Recordings, Shared Content, and Permissions from You
Some of our Products and Services allow you to stream, view, record or download and share video data. To provide you with these features, we will collect and store information that will allow us to save or share your content as directed by you. Nonetheless, data protection and privacy laws in your jurisdiction may impose certain responsibilities on you and your use of the Products and Services. You agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring that you comply with any applicable laws when you use the Products and Services, including, but not limited to, (i) any laws relating to the recording or sharing of video or audio content that includes third parties or public spaces, or (ii) any laws requiring notice to third parties, or consent or explicit consent of third parties with respect to your use of our Products or Services.

Changes
We’re constantly optimizing our Products and Services, so Smadot reserves the right to revise these Terms or any content of this agreement at any time by updating this page. We also reserve the right to remove any content from the Services at any time, for any reason, in our sole discretion, and without notice.
